Yesterday, I got the opportunity to take 1 of Kelly's classes, at Zinnia's.  The class was "Expressions".  As part of the class, we constructed a new journal from scratch.  This is the first class I have taken in a year.  Hard to believe...

The second photo is from the interior of my new journal.  I especially liked how the liner pages of the journal came together with the red scrapbook paper I used to cover the spine.  The roses and other flowers look good together.  On the right side, is the first page of this new book.

These 2 pages are pages 2 and 3 in my new journal.  After I got home from class yesterday afternoon, I continued to work and actually finished 6 pages in this journal.  I SO wish that I had the extra time that I could work in my journal every day, but that is not an option.  I tend to work in spurts, then I seem to go dormant for months at a time!  I even made a joke to Kelly about me having 2 blog readers!

5 minutes a day.

Your pages are so you. I love them.

It was wonderful to see you yesterday (and to meet Val!) It's been too long!

Of course, Kel, you are EVER prejudice! It was really fantastic to get a chance to spend some time together. It has been too long! Thank you for the wonderful Frida book. I started reading it last night and some of the photos and artwork are items I have never seen before, so they will make for good references for my Frida journal, that seems to be taking forever to move along. Thank you again, Kelly! You are the best! xoxo

oh my god, I've been reading your blog for, let's see, at least 2 years but I think longer ... I just suck at commenting.

Great pages. I will be taking a class with Kelly later this year so I am especially psyched to see what you made.

Kelly might be prejudice but she is right! I enjoy not only your art by reading what your words. I wanted to attend Kelly's workshop (I always do) but carmegeddon kept me home. Thank you for your continued inspiration. Irene

Hi Taylor! The # of readers has been a running joke with Kelly and me! I am at a high school, 9th-12th. Thanks for the good thoughts - I am trying to take advantage of having a little "my" time to make some new art before school opens again.

Thanks for the kind words, Desert Mermaid. How did you get such an interesting moniker?

Hi Sandy! This past year has been SO wild with the opening of my school. I am trying to get back into posting on a more regular basis. Thank you for your kind words.
